Submitting An Event to the Community Calendar


All submissions will be reviewed before posting to the city's Community Calendar. The city has the discretion to determine which public events will be included in the calendar. The events should provide entertainment, food or other attractions to a diverse population, and promote the economic benefits of tourism or enhance the quality of life of the community. All events must be open to the general public (for free or cost), located within the City of Greenville and organized for non-profit purposes.

Food for Fare Donation Drive

Greenlink customers can donate canned food items in exchange for a free bus ride.

On Friday, February 10, all fixed route passengers can receive one free bus ride for every 2 canned goods donated upon boarding the bus. Greenville Area Paratransit (GAP) customers* may receive one free GAP ride when they donate 4 canned goods upon boarding.

All donations will benefit United Ministries and the Souper Bowl of Caring food drive.

In 2022, Greenlink customers donated 444 non-perishable food items.

This event not only demonstrates Greenlink’s dedication to improving the community, but also provides an opportunity for Greenlink bus riders to give back. Customers enjoy the ability to build connections knowing that their donation may benefit a neighbor.


*GAP customers must be eligible for GAP services and already be an approved client.
